You Are Still A Good Mother/Father
Why is separation and divorce difficult, traumatic and bitter for so many people? Why can't many parents sort out sensible parenting arrangements for their children? Well, the key mistake made by many couples is that they do not accept that their world has changed. It's just not the same world any more for them and their children. The family is different, the mother is different and the father is different. Therefore the relationships between children and each parent must also change, no matter where they live. A new approach and new attitudes are needed.
The second mistake that many make is to run off to lawyers and court and start talking about their rights, instead of helping each other to focus on what's best for their children. The result is that, instead of first talking sensibly to each other, and getting help from a good counsellor or mediator, they are sucked into the legal whirlpool and drowned in conflict, anger and financial expense. This is foolish and unnecessary!
